Touring the Brothers’ collection in Salem, Oregon, DezzysSpeedShop comes across an incredible assortment of Shelby Mustangs.
DezzysSpeedShop, a YouTube channel, has been touring an incredible private museum in Salem, Oregon. The Brothers Collection, one of the world’s largest collections of antique and muscle vehicles, is only open to invited guests like Dezzy, so he makes the most of his time there.
Some estimates place the value of this excursion’s collection of Fords and Pontiacs at around $500 million. Some notable examples of Italian and German automobile design are among the more than 600 automobiles housed at the museum with over 350 on display.
An Incredible Row of Fords
We first see a 1957 Ford Ranchero at a timestamp of 0:09. This early model Ute is exceptional in more ways than one. Only two cars with a Paxton supercharger from the factory were produced that year, and this is one of them.
The Ranchero’s truck bed was relatively roomy despite its status as Ford’s smallest utility vehicle. In addition, the two cuts contributed to the item’s rising appeal. Therefore, buyers of the tiny 1957 Ford Ranchero could enjoy its novel appearance, increased cargo capacity, and dependable performance.
There weren’t a ton of interior and exterior color choices for the more economical Standard trim. A horn ring, dual sun visors, and personalized door panels were just a few of the optional extras that customers could pay for.
The model is a significant improvement over the standard 5.0-liter V8, as the 5.1-liter Thunderbird Special V8 can now produce 300 hp and 327 lb.-ft of torque thanks to its supercharging feature. These events occurred long before the United States sent a spacecraft into orbit.
Many other noteworthy Blue Oval vehicles are located close to the Ranchero. Among these is a one-of-a-kind 1966 F100 Police Interceptor truck and a one-of-a-kind 1966 Galaxie 500 at min. 2:08 with an R-code construction.
An Amazing Finding in the Pontiac Room
Dezzy heads into the Pontiac Room with his usual zeal, proving that the video is not just about Ford. The 1970 GTO Judge Ram Air Convertible stands out among the crowd of GTOs as seen at min. 9:57. Only six vehicles with a Ram Air IV and four-speed transmission have ever been spotted, and this one is among them.
The Joe Dirt movie’s 1979 10th Anniversary Trans Am at min. 10:57 is not even worth a second glance. The cars are a fleet of 1969 Trans Am convertibles. Only four of the eight produced by the firm are currently on display at the museum.
Amazing Shelby and Mustang
A unique collection of Mustangs can wow a viewer more than the hundreds of “normal” Fords would. It is safe to say that the excitement level of any Mustang would increase in the presence of a brilliant red 1969 Boss 302, as seen from min. 4:22 or a gleaming blue 1967 GT 500 from time 4:48 mins.
Once the lust-worthy pony cars have passed, there will be a line of only vintage Mustang Shelbys. A 1966 Shelby Mustang GT 350 is one vehicle that attracts Dezzy’s attention. There were just four production runs of this particular model of a dragster.
Why Mustang is Such an Amazing Vehicle
You probably know who Carroll Shelby is if you’re into fast cars. Carroll Shelby, a great racer turned builder, is a household name in the American performance and kit car communities. His impact on American car culture cannot be overstated.
Shelby’s collaboration with Ford ushered in a new era of innovation in American racing and sports car manufacture, as depicted in the film Ford v Ferrari. The Shelby Mustang GT350 and GT500, introduced between 1965 and 1967, are still highly sought after today.
Shelby did not just make considerable advancements in lightweight design and increased speed. His creative sense led to cars that excited motorists around the United States.
Shelby left Ford to focus on high-performance cars for Dodge and Oldsmobile, but he reunited with Ford in 2003 to create Mustangs for the new millennium under the Shelby name. The effects may be seen in the increased performance of the Shelby GT350 and GT500, Ford’s two fastest Mustangs. However, his impact can be seen throughout the entire Mustang lineup.
