Have you ever been waiting to be picked up by a friend or family member and got in the wrong car? Perhaps they own a Volkswagen Golf; a stylish and reliable car that always brings great results on the road. You jump in the back of your mum’s car only to see a stranger sitting in the front seat. This is a common occurrence (ok not that common) in the life of an ordinary car owner and the reason why the rich and famous have cars so exclusive that they will never accidentally jump in the wrong vehicle. Well, Bentley has just released one of their finest cars ever and it is about as exclusive as a car can get.
Ok, ok, the rich and famous are probably not buying exclusive cars because of these rare misunderstandings. They are buying them for their appeal, for their notoriety, for their limited availability. They are buying these cars because they are the height of manufacturing and quality and so that they can brag to their friends that they have one while others don’t. When you get to a position of such wealth that you can buy almost anything the only thing that remains is exclusivity.
The Bentley Mulliner Bacalar is everything that a car lover could want. Of course, that car lover would have to have a spare $2 million pounds as that how much the car will be sold for. They will also have to wake up pretty early to beat others in the queue as Bentley has that just 12 will be made. This will make it the rarest two-door Bentley of the modern era and a must-have for any car lover.
The car is named after Laguna Bacalar in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, one of the most beautiful places in the world and a fair representation of the beauty of this car. Bentley says that each car will be unique as the final design and construction will be completed only after discussions with the buyer to ensure they are receiving the model they desire. The version that was highlighted in the release was a bright yellow but Bentley also ran a competition among its internal staff to come up with the best design. The winner was a rainbow-colored car which, I have to be honest, I thought was pretty ugly, but it certainly ticked the exclusivity box. That rainbow car likely won’t be made, unless a final customer chooses it.
The wrap-around design, unique cockpit, and the entire structure of this car shows the true meaning of a luxury vehicle. It is clear that Bentley is continuing to push the boundaries of luxury design and performance. This makes sense as in the company’s 100th year they continue to strive to be the leading car both on the race track, on the road, and in the factory.
Bentley’s factory in England has now been certified carbon neutral, they are making a strong push in the area of the electric vehicle and are still producing the most beautiful of customized vehicles in the world. As Bentley says on its website the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar is not ‘technically’ for sale. However, you can get one made by talking to your Bentley advisor. After that, you would choose your interior wood, your paint color, your own theme, and then wait the 400 or so hours it takes to manufacture one of these beauties.
Bentley continues to lead the way in luxury vehicles and the latest model is another fine example. The car company clearly understands what the rich and famous (and everyone else) desires and is rolling out another fine option here.
